Updated: Mar 16

from Contentedness Cooking

Making this Sweet and Sour Cauliflower is super straightforward. No fancy ingredients are required.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Sweet and Sour Sauce (store-bought or homemade - recipe below)

  • 14 oz cauliflower florets

  • 2 Tbs garlic powder

  • 1/3 cup cornstarch

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • oil for frying

  • salt, pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a Ziploc bag or bowl combine cauliflower florets, oil, cornstarch, and garlic powder. Season generously with a pinch of salt and pepper. Make sure everything is mixed properly. If you use a freezer bag, just shake it back and forth.

  2. Next heat oil in a sauce pan and make sure it is really hot. Add covered cauliflower florets and deep fry them for around 4 minutes, until golden and lightly browned. Remove the florets from the oil and transfer to a frying pan.

  3. Now is time to add the sweet and sour sauce. Carefully mix everything and cook on medium heat for 1 minute more.
